Volunteer Development Officer
Contract: Part-time. Permanent
Hours: 12 hours per week with the capacity to work additional hours if required
Salary: £26,000 pro rata
Responsible to: Director
Location: Office based (SW11)
This exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of Home-Start Wandsworth and develop your expertise within the charity and family sector. Home-Start Wandsworth is an active and growing local charity serving children and families in the borough of Wandsworth. We are looking for a new team member to connect with individuals and organisations in the wider community, grow our volunteer network, and develop volunteer activity.
Home-Start Wandsworth is a fantastic, registered charity that supports families with at least one child under the age of five. We provide practical and emotional support for families in their homes and in the community through our network of trained volunteers.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
You’ll work alongside the Home-Start team to induct and coordinate experienced and new volunteers, providing oversight and reporting on all governance and administrative aspects of volunteering. Therefore, knowledge of compiling data and preparing reports, volunteer legislation and previous experience of the administrative tasks relating to volunteering are essential. Alongside being the main point of contact for volunteers and volunteering key elements of the role are to:
- Provide oversight, development, and administration of all aspects of volunteering
- Work alongside the wider team to ensure volunteers are appropriately selected, trained, and motivated to meet the needs of Home-Start Wandsworth families
- Ensure effective implementation of Home-Start Wandsworth volunteering policies and procedures
In addition, you may:
- Support home-start family activities
- Support fundraising activities
