As part of the John Lewis Partnership’s ‘Give a Little Love’ Christmas campaign, Peter Jones in Sloane Square, invited their customers to send a little love to children and families supported by Home-Start Wandsworth.
Through the‘Giving Tree’ which was located on the ground floor of the store, Peter Jones’ customers could ‘Give a Little Love’ by buying toys and gifts for Home-Start families who may not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity of Peter Jones customers who donated over 200 gifts equivalent to over £3,000 through the giving tree. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan also showed his support by buying a gift for a family.
Christmas can be a difficult time of year for many people and the best thing about these gifts is that besides providing wanted or needed items, they become part of happy memories for families that face very real struggles day-to-day.
We would like to say a big thank to Peter Jones for all their support. Thank you also to our network of brilliant volunteers who not only spent time in store talking to customers but also helped sort, wrap and deliver the gifts to families.
Duska Bosnjak Partner & Community Liaison and Marketing Coordinator at Peter Jones said:
“Our Giving Tree is an opportunity not only for Partners but also for our customers to be involved to play a part in our Christmas Community Campaign. We thought that by giving a gift and sending ‘a little love’ to many children and families who need it is a good way to demonstrate kindness this Christmas.
It has been a difficult year for many families in our community so supporting our local Home-Start, the charity that helps families with young children throughout their challenging times, makes perfect sense for us. We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all of our generous customers and Partners who have already give a little love to those who need it this Christmas.
