Here for parents when they need us most
Being a parent has never been easy and all parents struggle at one time or another. However, for some the challenges can be even greater. That is why we are committed to delivering a family-centred service which contributes to the wellbeing of of parents, children and the wider family and community system.
We believe every child has the right to the best possible start in life and through our core home-visiting service and group activites we are able to provide impartial and confidential practical and emotional support to families.
When a family is referred to us, one of our Home-Start coordinators works with them to assess their level of need and then carefully matches them to a volunteer who can offer them ongoing, non-judgemental, compassionate support.
Our network of volunteers receive expert training and support from our dedicated staff team to ensure that they are equipped to help families through their most challening times.
The difference we have made
This short film from one of our donors, The Wimbledon Foundation shows the difference we make to families.
It is the testimonals from our families that show the impact of our work. “Thank you to all at Home-Start Wandsworth. You really helped us through the highs and lows, as hard as it was to trust anybody to assist with my difficulties. You put a lot of faith into giving people chances.”
“So happy to have Home-Start in my life. I’m so grateful. I am in the process of getting myself back and giving my children a better mother.”
Our impact report, available to download below, shows the difference that our network of 77 volunteers are making to our families.
