Here for parents when they need us most
Being a parent has never been easy and all parents struggle at one time or another. However, for some the challenges can be even greater. That is why we are committed to delivering a family-centred service which contributes to the wellbeing of of parents, children and the wider family and community system.
We believe every child has the right to the best possible start in life and through our core home-visiting service and group activities we are able to provide impartial and confidential practical and emotional support to families.
We help families, living in Wandsworth, with children under the age of five, through their most challenging times. Please read our Parent support leaflet to see how we help families.
When a family is referred to us, one of our Home-Start coordinators works with them to assess their level of need and then carefully matches them to a volunteer who can offer them ongoing, non-judgemental, compassionate support.
Our network of volunteers receive expert training and support from our dedicated staff team to ensure that they are equipped to help families through their most challenging times.
The difference we have made
We measure the impact and effectiveness of our work for every family we support. Our impact report, which includes testimonials and family stories, shows the lasting difference we have made to families over the last year.
The impact report shows that families:
- Are better able to manage their child’s behaviour
- Are more involved in their child’s development and learning
- Feel less isolated
- Have improved mental health
