Could you or someone you know spare a few hours a week to make a difference to a family? Could you use the knowledge and experience gained from looking after your own family, along with up-to-date training, to support others who are struggling?
Volunteers are central to our work at Home-Start Wandsworth. They provide invaluable emotional support, practical help and friendship to parents in need. By visiting families in their own homes, volunteers provide a lifeline to families who are finding it hard to cope.
You could help make a long-lasting difference to a Wandsworth family by joining our team of volunteers.
Home-Start Wandsworth provides specialised preparation and continuing training and regular support for the work volunteers do. Volunteering is a great way to gain opportunities for professional development and for enhancing your career prospects.
We are looking for people who have an understanding of the needs of families, the ability to learn new skills, the commitment of 2-4 hours per week, along with enthusiasm, empathy and reliability.
Our next preparation course starts on Wednesday 13 September 2017. From 9:30am to 2:30pm (over 9 sessions ) and the training will take place at 20-22 York Road SW11 3QA.
